Cheering them on were more than 25,000 fans at Wichita's Cessna Stadium, including storybook State Champion, Maggie Steele, the gutsy pole-vaulting farm girl from Grain Valley, Kan.

To celebrate, autographed copies of the track and field novel, Maggie Vaults Over the Moon, are on sale at Wichita's premier independent bookstore, Watermark Books and Cafe, located at 4701 East Douglas (corner of Douglas and Oliver).

In addition, we're having a drawing for a giant-sized Maggie Vaults Over the Moon cover poster!

The bookstore is open from 8 am to 8 pm weekdays and from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday. The drawing will be held after the close of business this Saturday, June 7th.

Maggie Vaults Over the Moon is a tribute to the tens of thousands of real-life Kansas athletes who've competed in the Kansas State Meet over the past century.

The novel, which has its dramatic climax at the State Meet, was featured in the May 2013 issue of the Kansas State High School Activities Journal, with an endorsement from the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA).

"Maggie's story is dedicated to each and every one of us who've experienced the thrill of this event," said author Grant Overstake. "Her quest will inspire anyone who dreams of becoming a champion."'Maggie' is endorsed by the Kansas High School Activities Association.
