Artist YoungJu Kim Creates Beautiful Cover for Maggie Vaults Over the Moon
The beautiful cover design for the second edition of Maggie Vaults Over the Moon was created by YoungJu Kim (M.F.A, Illustration) an award-winning artist and educator. Her images are often executed in watercolor/digital on wood and feature the wood grain as an element of composition. Her paintings engage the artist’s sensitivity and creates unique dream-like mood.
“YoungJu Kim is a wonderfully brilliant and delightfully unique artist and expert graphic designer,” says author Grant Overstake. “In the long process of creating a brand new cover and interior design for my novel, MAGGIE VAULTS OVER THE MOON, YoungJu devoted herself to the many technical aspects of delivering a brand new book with a stunning new look, cheerfully and professionally handling all obstacles along the way. The results are stunning!”
Born in Busan, South Korea, YoungJu Kim grew up listening to folktales, reading books, drawing, and painting. After an early career as a schoolteacher, her love of visual storytelling would lead her to Savannah (Ga.) College of Art and Design, to become an illustrator.
YoungJu’s evocative style is featured on the cover and interior design of the award-winning novel, “Maggie Vaults Over the Moon” published by Grain Valley Publishing; as well as in works by Dasoham Publishing.
