Author Pens Feature on Olympian Morgann Leleux for TAKEOFF Magazine!
NEW IBERIA, LA — (July 29, 2021) — After a devastating 4th place finish at the 2016 US Olympic Trials, Morgann Leleux believed her highest jumps were still ahead. She regrouped and earned her spot on Team USA in 2021, and went on to make the finals in Tokyo!
Author and sportswriter Grant Overstake chatted with Morgann the day after she was honored with a parade in her hometown of New Iberia, Louisiana. Morgann’s delightful interview You’ve Got to Believe was published in the awesome Olympics Issue of TAKEOFF Magazine.
Leleux, at left, placed second at the U.S. Olympic Trials behind winner (and future Olympic gold medalist) Katie Nageotte, center, to secure a spot for the delayed games of the XXXII Olympiad. Sandi Morris, the world’s No. 3-ranked pole vaulter, earned the third spot on the U.S. team but was injured during the final and dropped from the competition.
